Neendakara Church

There was a Christian Church community here from early centuries. It is believed that St. Thomas Christians settled down here in the ninth century. There was yet another migration from Quilon to Neendakara in the fourteenth century. In 1502 the Portuguese visited the church. Franciscan missionaries also visited Neendakara. Neendakara was under Kayamkulam for a period. In 1558 Neendakara was erected parish. The present church was completed in 1983. Fr. Francis David and Fr. Peter Jose led the church construction. Though it is an ancient parish documents and records available are very little.
