The area was under Tuet Parish. A church was built here by the initiative of Fr. Joseph S. Fernandez for the convenience of Catholics in Ashramam and Uliyakoil wards. The Church was blessed by H.E. Cardinal Angelini in 25-01-1994. Ashramam is now a quasi parish
